Up into the wild blue yonder

For Father's Day this year, we sent Len up in a small plane & said "good luck!" It's called a discovery flight, where you & an instructor go for a 30 minute flight & he lets you have the controls. We knew this was one of the only things that would tempt Len into not going to work as soon as he woke up. He watches the History channel on war & airplanes so often, that the boys have now given up trying to get him to change the channel & just watch with him. They now share Len's love of airplanes. Len was ecstatic & had a blast! Apparently, he did a pretty good job of flying too :) Noah & Sam ended up hopping in at the last minute.

Len said as soon as they took off, they all heard Sam singing the "A,B,C's" into the headsets! I guess he wasn't scared a bit! I'm so glad that Len had fun, if even for a few hours. He works so much that it's crazy, but he has a much better attitude than me about it. I appreciate how hard he works, I just wish his boss appreciated it more & compensated him! If not, he should be able to be home with us because we miss him!

This is one examples of the ridiculous things that happens when your husband is never home to help keep the house & manly things in good repair. Our nice bbq has been needing some tlc for 2 years, but I don't know how to fix it & we don't have extra money to hire someone for everything that is broken. I decided I was not going to have another bbq-less summer, so I pulled out our camping stove & we enjoyed bbq chicken last night for Father's Day (without a father)! It's all good!

We love Lenny & practically maul him to death when he is home. He's such a great Daddy & husband :) We are very lucky to have such a kind, cute, handy & sweet guy in our life.

Happy Father's Day babe!

Words of wisdom from someone who is very wise

Obviously...I didn't write it!

"Patience is not passive resignation, nor is it failing to act because of our fears. Patience means active waiting & enduring. It means staying with something & doing all that we can- working, hoping, exercising faith; bearing hardship with fortitude even when the desires of our heart are delayed. Patience is not simply enduring, it is enduring well."
-Dieter F. Uchtdorf

This sang to me when I read it today.

Doing, doing, doing

So far, the first few weeks of summer have been so full that we have hardly stopped to breath! It's been fun though. Saturday, Noah & I participated in the Utah Hemophilia Society's "Blood Run" . My cousin's cute little boy, Ethan, was born 10 days after Bella. It was so fun & exciting for us to have kids together, because we are more like sisters than cousins. Everything seemed fine with Ethan, until they went to circumcise him. He wouldn't stop bleeding & ended up in the ICU after 5 transfusions. We were all so terrified & confused, because the Idaho hospital was saying his doctor hit a major artery & basically botched the circumcision...which would've meant he'd be fine after a transfusion & repair. Ethan just wasn't getting better, and eventually a plastic surgeon had to sew up the minor incision just to stop the bleeding. He went to Primary Children's after he had a few weeks of recovery & was diagnosed with severe hemophilia. It was heartbreaking & overwhelming for my cousin & her husband. It's scary, plus it's the most expensive chronic illness you can have, other than aids. He will have to be extremely careful until he's 2 & them he will have a port inserted into a vein in his chest where they will infuse him daily with factor to clot his blood. It costs anywhere from $20-30,000 per MONTH. Ethan has done so well & so have my cousin & her hubby. They are awesome people & we know Ethan will grow up to be an amazing guy :) It was fun to go support the Hemophilia Society & raise some money for research.

It was rainy & Noah had the perfect solution!!!

Thursday we got back from St. George, visiting our cousins & Grandpa & Grandma.

Len's sis, Cheri & her hubby Kary, loved that Bella warmed up to them finally!

The boys had a blast swimming & playing with their cousins.

It felt amazing to be in the warm weather for 4 days straight!

We got to see "Cats" at the Tuachan theater.

The scenery was better than the play!

We drove up Kolob Canyon & played in the reservoir. The kids loved practicing skipping rocks with Grandpa.

We had a blast! The day we came home, I had to deliver a wedding & that night we had Noah's book club with 15 kids at our house! Pheww! It's been a whirlwind, but so rewarding.
We will look back on this summer & have so many fond memories.

Summer's in full swing

I was so excited to be able to spend some one on one time with Noah yesterday, and be able to swing a golf club again. It was a great time!

Noah thought so too!
Golf is one of those things that I used to play often & enjoyed but have only done a few times since I started having kids. It felt great to go out on the course again yesterday & especially with Noah. We laughed & had a blast together! Noah had a few great swings, but I think his favorite part was driving the cart by himself!

The 3 muskateers eating popsicles together, on the swing, in the sun.
It doesn't get any better than that when you're little!
